OMAHA, N.E.(KELO)- Our regional economy is in positive territory for a second straight month.

That comes from Creighton University’s monthly Rural Mainstreet Index, which includes a survey of small community bankers.

Economist Ernie Goss says commodity prices are the main drag on the economy.

Low commodity prices have driven bank loans in the region to a record high.

South Dakota’s overall reading slipped a bit lower from last month, but remains in positive territory.
