ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Monday, Congressman Dusty Johnson announced he will run for Governor in South Dakota in the 2026 elections.
Upon hearing the news, South Dakota Gubernatorial Candidate Toby Doeden, released the following to us to share with the public:
“Today was a day decades in the making. Dusty Johnson has been plotting his campaign for Governor for virtually all of his life. This morning, in a luxury ballroom filled with millionaire donors, corporate lobbyists, and members of the political elite, Congressman Johnson finally entered the race for Governor.”
Now, I don’t know Congressman Johnson personally, but from what I understand, he is a good father, a loving husband, and a generally nice guy. The problem with Dusty is that he so desperately wants to be Governor that his willing to do anything and everything to make his a dream a reality.
I am running for Governor to make YOUR dreams a reality. The truth is, I don’t really WANT to “be Governor”. I simply want to fight for the future of South Dakota. I want to solve the serious problems we face. I want to ensure that the South Dakota we know and love is protected for generations to come.
Today with the click of a button, Congressman Johnson has transferred nearly 7 million dollars from Washington, D.C. to his campaign account here in South Dakota. Together, he and his friends in Washington are going to leave no stone unturned in their effort to fundamentally redefine what it means to be a South Dakotan.
Our grassroots campaign and coalition has never been more motivated. Together, our message is spreading to all four corners of our state. Dusty and his friends are threatened by our momentum and they are scared. They know that the voters here in South Dakota are wide awake and ready for real conservative leadership.
As the campaign season begins to take shape, remember this: There are two paths ahead for South Dakota. One where We The People hold power over our government, and one where that power is sold at auction to the highest paying donor in Washington, D.C.
I look forward to the days and weeks ahead. I look forward to continuing to meet each and every one of you. I hope you will continue to ask me the tough questions, to hold my feet to the fire, and to make me work to earn each and every vote.
South Dakota deserve a servant leader, and that’s exactly who I intend to be.”
