Performing on Thursday, July 24th is Cory Waller and the Wicked Things.
According to the bio from ADA:
“Cory Waller & The Wicked Things are budding talents in the Midwest country scene. Hard work and honesty are at the center of the band’s sound and songwriting, and their most recent album titled “Redfield” (Iowa) is an honest portrayal of life in the Midwest, with stories of past and lost loves, hardships, and having a good time in the land where the tall corn grows. Primary songwriter and lead singer Cory Waller writes candid portrayals built from years of life, love, ups, downs, marriage, and fatherhood. Taking inspiration from Jason Isbell, John Mellencamp, and Blackberry Smoke — Cory now forges his own musical path.
Raised in rural Iowa, Waller grew up playing music in punk, metal, rock, and country bands — all just stepping stones to his current musical adventure. The band has traversed the midwest sharing their brand of “black dirt country music”. The band’s namesake, Cory Waller, started playing music with bass player Ethridge Netz when they were in middle school and honed his country craft with lead electric guitar player Ronley King in dives and bars across Iowa in his 20s. Joined by fierce vocalist and acoustic guitar player Emilee Johnson, and the backbone of the band, drummer Kaleb Ferry. They write music and perform for the people they grew up around.”
All concerts will take place at Malchow Plaza beginning at 7pm with gates opening at 6pm.
