ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release)- Prairie Partners Master Gardeners are featuring four gardens plus a bonus for the Aberdeen Spring Garden Walk. View plantings on Thursday, June 19, from 1 to 7 p.m.

Advanced tickets are $12 and can bought at Kessler’s, Natural Abundance, Hitch N Post, Parkview Nursery, and Ken’s SuperFair Foods in Aberdeen. These tickets list the gardens and you can start at any one you’d like to.  Cost is $15 the day of the event.

Funds raised continue the Raised Bed Garden Program at the Aberdeen Boys and Girls Club and provide educational signage at the Aberdeen Arboretum. Here is a sample:

1. Rest among the pollinators and native plant: The owners wanted to develop the yard into gardens that provide oases of peace and quiet. Starting with a bare yard, they focused on native and pollinator perennial plants. Stop by to see bee balm, milkweed, coneflower, blazing star and much more.

2. See the She Shed and more: Check out this garden which is a palate of tapestry of blooms. The owner’s love of flower gardening is enhanced by her “She Shed” which she has turned into a calming refuge. Scattered throughout the garden are pieces of refurbished planters.

3. Well planned for beauty: This owner likes to “Farm for Flowers.” She grows plants that she can divide and share with others. Her favorite spot is her Shade Garen with a variety of leaves, heights and interests.

4. Eclectic Gardens of West Hill: This owner has transformed the back half of both lots into an urban oasis full of lush greenery, whimsical décor, themed sitting areas, fountains, and bowling balls. He has incorporated many different materials, textures, plants, trees, structures, and pathways to tease the eye at every glance.

As a bonus garden this year, those who have tickets are invited to enjoy the Garden Walk on the Prairie at Presentation Heights in Aberdeen, SD from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 19. The Sisters would like to share the beauty of the native prairie restoration and walking paths around the land.
