Robert Thomas “Tom” Crump, 81, of Huron, SD, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, at the Huron Area Center for Independence.
His services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Kuhler Funeral Home in Huron. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. His funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kirk Peters officiating. Lunch and fellowship will follow in the funeral home’s reception area. After lunch, Tom will be laid to rest next to his parents at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield, SD.

Tom was born on December 4, 1943, to Elijah and Gladys (Reynolds) Crump in Redfield. As a child, Tom entered the South Dakota Developmental Center in Redfield. He resided there until moving to Meendering House at the Huron Area Center for Independence approximately 20 years ago.
John Deere tractors and combines were special to Tom and he had an extensive collection of memorabilia and caps. He enjoyed watching farming shows on tv, as well as spending time on his iPad. Tom also loved animals and windmills.
Grateful for being a part of Tom’s life are his nieces and nephews: Renea (Robyn) Van Bockel, Danielle (Dustin Muhm) Crump, and Brittany (Nick) Trandahl; sister-in-law Kim Crump; and the residents and staff of the Center for Independence.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Reita (Elmer) Dobson; brother Dale Crump; and nephew Randy Dobson.
