PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- State government employees in South Dakota got an extra paycheck deposited in to their accounts Monday morning, but that money should be gone by the end of the day.

Bureau of Finance and Management Commissioner Jim Terwilliger (hard “g” sound) says the state does its payroll through First Premier Bank, based in Sioux Falls. He says one of the bank’s vendors caused the glitch.

Terwilliger says the good news is that the state’s financial system is operating correctly.

Again, the double payroll deposit state employees temporarily received was caused by an issue at one of the companies the state’s bank uses to process ACH deposits.
