ABERDEEN, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – The Voice of the Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers, Scott Solberg will be stepping down as the lead voice of the school’s athletic programs on Pheasant Country 103.

This upcoming fall on Pheasant Country 103 will be the first time in twenty years that Solberg will not be on the mic as the lead voice of the Cavs.

He joined David Tukesbrey & Matt McClure on Monday’s episode of “The Sports Hub” to look back at his time on the mic & to announce he’ll be passing the mic along to somebody new.

Solberg reflects on his time with the green & gold:

Hub City Radio & Pheasant Country 103 (and Scott) became the voice of the Cavaliers in 2004-2005; Scott reminisces about how PC 103 & Cavalier athletics became synonymous with each other:

The Cavs won state championships (in football) in 2005 & 2006 under head coach Terry Dosch. In 2005 defeating St. Thomas More 29-8 & then in 2006, defending their crown against STM, 27-13. Scott looks back on those teams:

He also had the ability to call play-by-play for his son who won a state championship, he talks about being on the call for a moment like that:

The former voice of the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles, Matt McClure will take over in the fall of ’25 as the next ‘Voice Of The Cavaliers.’ Scott told Matt about the culture & community that Aberdeen Roncalli has:

Scott thanked the loyal Cavalier listeners & Aberdeen community.
