Aberdeen blasted by weather this week

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- After starting with the week with temps in the upper 80s and Red Flag Warnings being posted due to high winds and low humidity.  The city was hit with needed moisture but a lot of wind coming along with that.

NWS meteorologist Travis Tarver talks about the winds that hit the region Thursday night.

Tarver talks about rainfall figures that been reported in the region through Thursday.

The storm caused wind damage near Travel Leaders on Lincoln Street.

Other top wind speeds, according to the NWS, included:

2 miles west of Richmond Lake Rec Area in Brown County, 65 mph, 9:45pm, Thursday

Peever in Roberts County, 74 mph, 11:12 p.m. Thursday.

Miranda in Faulk County, 70 mph, 11:46 p.m. Thursday.

Summit in Roberts County, 69 mph, 1:23 a.m. Friday, May 16.

Cresbard in Faulk County, 65 mph, 8:45 p.m. Thursday.

2 miles east of Sisseton in Roberts County, 62 mph, 12:16 a.m. Friday.

Cravens Corner in Edmunds County, 60 mph, 8:36 p.m. Thursday.
