WATERTOWN, S.D.(KWAT)- The Minneapolis regional office of the FBI is the lead investigative agency into a fatal incident that occurred Tuesday in Roberts County.
Law enforcement sources say one of the persons involved in the incident is “affiliated” with the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department, but the person is not a conservation officer.
The Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Tribe confirms there is an ongoing investigation into a death from an incident they say involved a tribal member and a non-tribal member, but would not comment further.
Governor Larry Rhoden’s office and the South Dakota U.S. Attorney’s Office also confirm they are aware of a death investigation in Roberts County, but they too would not elaborate on the circumstances.
