ARLINGTON, S.D.(KWAT)- A controlled burn northeast of Arlington got out of control Monday afternoon, and kept dozens of firefighters busy.
The fire left the intended burn area and spread into nearby CRP land.
Fire departments from Arlington, Volga, Sinai, Bruce and Lake Preston were called out to bring it under control and extinguish it. That took about four hours to accomplish.
It’s estimated that close to 190 acres burned.
There were no injuries.
