State trying to recover after below average snowfall

WATERTOWN, S.D.(KWAT)- Snowfall across South Dakota this past winter was below average, and that means many areas of the state are trying to catch up on subsoil moisture levels as spring planting progresses.

Here’s South Dakota Agriculture and Natural Resources Secretary Hunter Roberts.

The southwest corner of the state, including Fall River, Custer and Oglala Lakota counties are the driest according to the weekly U.S. Drought Monitor.
