Our family has lost a devoted mother, wife, and sister. Lori was diagnosed with cancer nine years ago. She fought a courageous and painful battle with cancer, and through it all, she never worried about herself, always taking care of her family, just as she had her whole life.
Laura Lee Williams was born on August 22, 1968, in Ipswich, South Dakota, to LeRoy “Sonny” and Amy (Klein) Williams. She was the youngest of five children and graduated from Ipswich High School in 1987. She went on to earn an associate’s degree from Bismarck State College. Laura dedicated 29 years of her career to the Adjustment Training Center (Aspire Inc.). In addition, before her health declined, she worked nights and weekends in Home Health. Caring for individuals and the elderly was Lori’s true passion—she took great pride in using her patience and skills to help them remain in the comfort of their own homes.
On May 26, 1995, Lori was united in marriage to Troy Miller. Together, they were blessed with three children: Seth, Zoie, and Ty. Lori was a devoted and loving mother who cherished her children above all else. Whether it was BMX races, soccer games, or school events, she was always present, cheering them on with pride and unwavering support.
Family was at the center of Lori’s life. She found joy in every holiday gathering and summer weekend spent together, creating memories that will be forever treasured. She was a loving wife, a dedicated mother, a supportive sister, and a loyal friend. Lori also took great pride in her home, which was always spotless—everything in its place, reflecting the care and attention she devoted to every aspect of her life.
Grateful for having shared Lori’s life are her husband of 29 years, Troy Miller; children: Seth, Zoie, and Ty; siblings, Randy (Brenda) Williams, Sandy (Jeff) Bruckner, Mike (Shirley) Williams, and Scott (Kristie) Williams; in-laws, Reuben and Alice Miller and Todd (Michelle) Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
Lori was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and her beloved dog, Bella.
The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jason Jones and the entire team at the Prairie Center and Avera Cancer Institute for their excellent care and to all who supported Lori through gestures of kindness and love.
