Rosebud Sioux Tribe declares state of emergency

SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELOLAND) — The Rosebud Sioux Tribe has declared a state of emergency because of the severe weather impacting the area.

The tribe’s Facebook communications page posted an announcement from President Kathleen Wooden Knife.

“Due to the enormity and ongoing impact of the storm affecting several of our communities—and with more damage continuing to be discovered—the Rosebud Sioux Tribe is in a state of emergency.”

A severe storm passed through the area early Monday morning.
