ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release)- In the last eight days, the Aberdeen Police Department has responded to and investigated random calls for shots being fired within the city limits. In each instance, it was reported that as many as five to eight shots were heard in areas on the east side of town. At this time, there have not been any injuries or assaults reported in conjunction with this activity.
There are obvious safety concerns for our community with this type of activity occurring. Also, our laws prohibit the discharge of firearms within one mile of the corporate city limits.
The Aberdeen Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the person or people responsible for this activity. Aberdeen PD is offering a cash reward of $1000 to anyone who can provide information that would lead to the identity of a suspect. If you have any information related to these events, please call 605-626-7911 or private message us.
