Governor Rhoden at LATC on Thursday

WATERTOWN, S.D. (KWAT)–Hundreds of people gathered at Lake Area Technical College (LATC) Thursday for the annual Governor’s Luncheon.

Governor Larry Rhoden was the featured speaker saying LATC is a school he’s, “grown fond of.”

The governor says LATC is producing, “exceptional numbers.” He cited 99-percent job placement for graduates, 82-percent of which remain in South Dakota to work and raise families.

Governor Rhoden says the graduates of LATC receive, “great career training at tremendous value,” and are, “creating the workforce of the future.”

LATC President Tiffany Sanderson announced at today’s luncheon that a generous gift from Sanford Health will allow the college to build a new surgical technology training area on campus.

Construction is already underway, and will be finished by this fall.

LATC offers degrees in more than 30 programs, and will graduate some 900 students next month.
