PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- Dozens of South Dakotans spent part of their Sunday celebrating Easter taking part in the 72nd annual Pierre Elks Lodge Easter Egg Hunt at the South Dakota Governor’s Residence.
This year was the first time as Governor for Larry Rhoden, but he’s no stranger to the event.
Rhoden says the great attendance at the annual Easter Egg Hunt says a lot about who South Dakotans are.
The front lawn of the Governor’s residence was divided into five age-specific zones for the safety of egg scavengers. Free Easter baskets were also given away to those attending along with numerous other gifts and door prizes provided by many local Pierre/Fort Pierre areas sponsors. Families were also able to take photos with the Easter Bunny during the event.
