ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- District 1 legislators Representative Logan Manhart & Senator Micheal Rohl appeared on the KSDN Nightly Report Tuesday to look back on the 100th legislative session.

Bills they primed:

Representative Manhart had two bills he primed.  One address Bitcoin(HB1202).

The other was HB1201 which dealt with school employees and gender ideology.

Senator Rohl primed 11 bills that started in the Senate.  Five of those bills were signed by Governor Rhoden.  One of them involved age for school attendances(SB71).

One thing Senator Rohl looked to do was raise the age limit on video lottery to 21 that didn’t pass(SB203).

One bill both agreed on was HB052 that dealt with no eminent domain for the CO2 pipeline.  Representative Manhart felt the voters in November sent a message in the election.

Senator Rohl said voters sent a message in the past election.

There were a number of bills that both disagree on during the session.

One was SB12 which was a bill prime by Senator Rohl that dealt with limiting what citizens can loan to candidates and committees.  One person seemed to be the main focus of this bill.  Senator Rohl said on the floor addressing what George Soros could do and made a comment about the “George Soros of South Dakota.”  Many determine that he may have refer to Aberdeen’s Toby Doeden with Dakota First Action.

Representative Manhart felt this was an attack on Toby Doeden and his PAC.

Another item they disagreed on was SB51 that dealt with the Ten Commandments in public schools.  Senator Rohl was opposed to the bill.

Represenatative Manhart was in favor.

They also disagreed on the FY2026 Budget.  Senator Rohl talked about his support.

Representative Manhart felt too much was being spent by the state.

Representative Manhart was asked about what cuts he may want to see done.
