ELLENDALE, N.D.(Press Release)- The City of Ellendale, in partnership with the North Dakota Department of Commerce, is developing the City’s first Strategic Plan. The plan will serve as a guide for the community by refining a vision for the future, outlining short-term goals, and establishing a roadmap for the economic success of Ellendale. The public is highly encouraged to participate by sharing their thoughts on Ellendale’s values, strengths, challenges, and opportunities for growth through a recently launched survey.

“This plan cannot be successful without support and participation from our community members,” says Ellendale Mayor Don Flaherty. “We hope to gather as much information from the greater Ellendale area as we can so we can utilize your input into the development of the strategic plan.”

The city will utilize the input received to identify gaps and opportunities that exist within the community. Aligning Ellendale’s vision and goals to truly reflect the community is the primary objective, and this work is made possible through a partnership with Commerce.

“Commerce is proud to support Ellendale in their first strategic planning process,” said Commerce Commissioner Chris Schilken. “Thanks to the efforts of our Community Services team at Commerce, this community-driven effort will guide Ellendale’s sustainable growth and ensure a prosperous future.”

The survey is open now until April 14 at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/EllendaleStrategicPlan. Printed copies of the survey can be picked up at City Hall. The Strategic Plan is anticipated to be completed in July 2025.
