Todd was born April 17th, 1961, in Huron, SD, to Paul P. and Ruth (Glanzer) Hofer. He grew up on the family farm, working buffalo and tending fields while attending Doland School K-12, graduating in 1980. His high school highlights consist of Doland High’s heavyweight wrestler, FFA, wrestling captain, football captain, as well as the Sweetheart Ball candidate.
He enjoyed his adulthood hunting and fishing all over but favored Alaska with good friends Joe and Dave the most. He continued to farm in the Doland area and continued the pheasant hunts that his mom and dad started. One of his most desired hobbies was flying his planes to shoot foxes and coyotes, as long as the shooter had great aim. Whenever given the chance, Todd loved to show off his love for his many classic cars and John Deere tractors.
On March 13th, 2009, he married the love of his life, Jolyn Whitley, in Jamaica. Todd welcomed her son, Tommy, and her daughter Fancy, with open arms as if they were his own kids. Later, he welcomed his eight grandkids, who he adored dearly.
Todd continued to farm with his family and enjoyed teaching the kids of all generations his love for farming, hunting, and fishing, and flying his grandkids around.
Todd is survived by his wife Jolyn of Doland, and children: Tommy (Michaela Schulte) Whitley of Watertown, SD, and Fancy (David) Hamm of Fairbanks, AK. He is also survived by eight grandkids: Remmy, Wyatt, Piper, Ember, Sophie, Thomas, Ella-Rose, and Avery; sisters: Mary Ann Wylie of Doland, and Pam (Delwin) Hofer of Carpenter, SD; as well as many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Roger, and right-hand man Tiger Boy.
Pallbearers include Donavon Whitley, Kirk Whitley, Chris Whitley, Tony Whitley, Paul Wylie, Jake Wylie, Andrew “Buck” Jorgenson, and Dwight Noethlich.
