DOUGLAS, S.D.(KCCR)- South Dakota U-S Senator Mike Rounds is thankful the South Dakota Legislature found away to help fund a new school building for the Douglas School District. Senate Bill Six will also housing infrastructure money to be used as a zero-interest loan to help build an elementary school.
Rounds says the school needs to be in place before airmen and their families get to South Dakota to operate the B-21 program.
Rounds says nearly a billion dollars of construction will be taking place at the base to get ready for the Raider.
Rounds has requested 42-million dollars in Congressionally Directed spending for the Douglas Elementary School with the Douglas School District chipping in six-million for the project.
