Kathleen Esther Suiter Samuelson, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor Skilled Nursing Home in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
The first-born of six children, she grew up in Aberdeen and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School. This is where she met Thomas Paul Samuelson. They married on February 3, 1962. Lynn, Brad and Chris were born to this union.
She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and would always make the holidays festive. Christmas was a special time for her family. She loved to buy gifts for family and her friends.
Kathleen (Kathy) was a very vibrant woman, she loved life, enjoyed a fun social life, was a fantastic listener and her laughter was a joy to all.
Kathy & Tom (Sam) owned the Eatery Café on Main Street in Aberdeen. It was a successful business for several years until it closed in 1996. Through it, they met and befriended many people.
Kathy is survived by her brother: Roger Suiter, her sons, Brad (Julie), Chris (Dan) Samuelson, and her daughter, Lynn (Bill) Aldinger, eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Preceding Kathy in death was her husband, Thomas, parents; Esther and Rober Suiter, her sisters and brothers; Harriett Bozzell, Judy Dabney, Jerry and LeRoy Suiter.
She was a very special lady that will be missed and never forgotten. She will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025 in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Burial will take place after the service. Refreshments will be served thereafter at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel at 3310 7th Ave. SE in the Meeting Room.
