WASHINGTON, D.C.(KELO)- The South Dakota impact of an agreement between U-S Postmaster General Louis DeJoy and the DOGE government reform team is uncertain.

The Postal Service lost 9.5-billion dollars last year, and reportedly has plans to cut its workforce by ten-thousand workers in the next month.

Those cuts would come through a voluntary retirement program announced in January.

As for the DOGE effort, Todd West – the President of the South Dakota Postal Workers Union – says there are deeper concerns about a potential executive order from President Trump.

Postal workers will be conducting an informational campaign in front of Post Offices later this week, handing out flyers to inform the public of their concerns over the potential administration actions.
