South Dakota Senate defeat HB1165

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The South Dakota Senate debated HB1165.  The bill provide a means by which an agricultural producer may request an automatic refund of an assessment on crops.

Representative Spencer Gosch of Glenham primed the bill in the South Dakota House.  In the South Dakota Senate speaking in favor of the bill was Senator Mark Lapka of Leola.

Lapka believes this will help streamline the process.

Opposing the bill on the floor was Senator Sydney Davis of Burbank.

Davis stated an example.

The bill was defeated on a 19-15 vote.
