Huntrods Adds Six To Swim Program

Aberdeen, SD (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University head coach Kaden Huntrods announced six additions to the 2025-26 swimming and diving roster today. Lorelai Grund (Watertown, S.D.), Maya Hentges (Sartell, Minn.), Emma Machado (Alliance, Neb.), Sydney Rogers (Casper, Wyo.), Riley Vraniak (Henderson, Nev.), and Ella Wanschura (Forest Lake, Minn.) will join the Wolves in the fall of 2025.
Lorelai Grund – Free, Watertown, S.D. / Deuel HS
Lorelai Grund is a freestyle swimmer out of Deuel High School. She was a 5-year letter winner for the Cardinals and multiple time state placer. Grund holds personal bests of 25.96 in the 50 free, 56.99 in the 100 free, and 5:29.80 in the 500 free. Her 2021 relay team holds the state record in the 800-yard relay with a time of 8:08.71 and 800 meter relay with a time of 9:29.43. She is also a member of the Watertown Area Swim Club led by Chuck Baechler. She is the daughter of Ryan and Julie Grund.
Maya Hentges – Free, Sartell, Minn. / Sartell HS
Maya Hentges is a freestyle swimmer out of Sartell High School. She was a 4-year letter winner and senior team captain for the Sabers. Hentges holds personal bests of 24.45 in the 50 free, 55.97 in the 100 free, 2:01.74 in the 200 free, and 1:05.85 in the 100 fly. She earned CLC All-Conference honors in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. Hentges recorded top-8 section finishes in each of her four prep seasons, and added a top-16 state finish in 2024. She is the daughter of Scott and Amie Hentges.
Emma Machado – Fly, Alliance, Neb. / Alliance HS
Emma Machado is a butterfly swimmer out of Alliance High School. She competes for the Alliance High School Bulldogs and the Scottsbluff County Swim Club. Machado holds personal bests of 26.25 in the 50 free, 29.83 in the 50 fly, 58.96 in the 100 free, 1:16.82 in the 100 breast, and 1:11.42 in the 100 fly. She placed eighth at the 2023 SBSC State Meet. She is the daughter of Amy and Derrick Machado.
 
Sydney Rogers – Free/Breast/IM/Back, Casper, Wyo. / Kelly Walsh HS
Sydney Rogers is a multi-stroke swimmer out of Kelly Walsh High School. She was a 4-year letter winner and 2-year team captain for the Trojans under the direction of head coach Nick Hopson. Rogers is a 3-time all-conference honoree and all-state recipient. She holds both school and pool records. Kelly Walsh won the Wyoming State Championship in 2023. She is the daughter of Sarah and Bill Rogers.
 
Riley Vraniak – Breast, Henderson, Nev. / Nevada State HS
Riley Vraniak is a breaststroke swimmer out of Nevada State High School. Vraniak competes for the Boulder City Henderson Heatwave Swim Team. She holds personal betss of 2:30.64 in the 200 breast, 1:12.01 in the 100 breast, 57.32 in the 100 free, and 4:57.88 in the 400 IM. She is the daughter of Traci and George Vraniak.
Ella Wanschura – Breast, Forest Lake, Minn. / Forest Lake HS
Ella Wanschura is a breaststroke swimmer out of Forest Lake High School. Wanschura competes for the North Star Swim Team. She holds personal bests of 31.78 in the 50 breast, 1:08.43 in the 100 breast, and 2:29.71 in the 200 breast. North Star has won three long course state championships and four short course state championships. Wanschura is also a Speedo Section qualifier. She is the daughter of Brian and Dana Wanschura.
