Mankato, MN (NSUWolves.com) [Day 1] – The Northern State University track and field teams opened the 2024-25 NSIC Indoor Championships with four all-conference performances, one league champion, and nine student-athletes advancing to day two finals. In addition, the Wolves tallied 12 season best or personal bests on the day. Northern sits third on the men’s side with 30 points and sixth on the women’s side with 14 points following the first day of action.
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN
- Eli Radtke leads the Wolves in the heptathlon, sitting sixth with 2,646 points through four events; he tallied marks of 7.19 in the 60m, 6.46m in the long jump, 12.29m in the shot put, and 1.71m in the high jump
- Sean Juengst and Jeffrey Boschee round out the top-10 with 2,465 and 2,461 points respectively in ninth and tenth
- Juengst recorded marks of 7.71 in the 60m, 6.02m in the long jump, 11.05m in the shot put, and 1.86m in the high jump, while Boschee notched marks of 7.73 in the 60m, 5.96m in the long jump, 9.99m in the shot put, and 1.95m in the high jump
- Chris Weber bested his own school record in the 60m with a time of 6.76, qualifying for finals with the fourth fastest time; his mark also ranks in the top-35 nationally
- Seth Martens and Drew Salfrank advanced to the finals in the 400m, notching times of 49.11 and 50.54 in third and eighth
- Carter Dingman will race the 600m finals tomorrow, recording the fourth fastest prelims time of 1:23.18
- The 800m final will see Lincoln Woodring for the Wolves who ran a sixth place, 2:00.11 prelims time
- Nathan Alto rounded out the scorers in the 5000m, taking eighth with a time of 15:11.25
- Boschee followed up his heptathlon performance with an all-conference finish in the high jump, taking third with a personal best jump of 2.04m, which is also a provisional mark for the freshman
- Jayden Munroe scored team points in the long jump, taking seventh overall with a mark of 7.01m
- Northern grabbed the top-2 spots in the pole vault, led by defending NSIC Champion Sam Tremelling
- Tremelling won the conference championship with a 4.89m vault, besting his previous season best of 4.88m
- Radtke followed as the pole vault runner-up, clearing 4.79m and earning all-conference accolades
- The distance medley relay team of David VanVeen, Geoffrey Mannino, Jessup Pederson, and Jon Burkhalter took sixth overall with a time of 10:23.16
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN
- Renea Taylor advanced to finals in the 60m, recording a season best time of 7.64 in eighth; she is just 0.01 seconds off the national provisional mark in the event
- Alli Jackson heads into Saturday’s finals of the 600m with the top time of 1:37.26, while true freshman Anna Skachenko qualified for her first NSIC finals with the fourth fastest time of 1:37.42
- Summer Carlson will also enter a finals event, in the 1000m, with the fastest prelims mark of 2:59.93
- Three Wolves scored team points in the pole vault, led by Romane Maugest with an all-conference, third place finish; she vaulted a season best 3.74m, clearing the national provisional mark of 3.72m
- Bekah Walz and Gitte Bellemans added fourth and sixth place finishes in the pole vault with marks of 3.74m and 3.64m respectively; Walz also tallied a national provisional mark with her finish
Mankato, MN (NSUWolves.com) [Day 2] – The Northern State University track and field teams closed out the NSIC Indoor Championships on Saturday with one individual championship and five all-conference performances. The men and the women each placed fifth from the championships. The men tallied 73 points, while the women scored 53 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN
- Chris Weber improved his prelims mark, finishing as the 60m runner-up with a school record time of 6.73; he moved into the top-25 nationally in the event and earned all-conference honors
- Seth Martens and Drew Salfrank took fifth and seventh in the 400m with times of 49.80 and 50.03 respectively
- Carter Dingmann added a fifth place finish in the 600m with a time of 1:23.49
- Lincoln Woodring notched a fifth place finish of his own in the 800m, crossing the finish line in 1:57.40
- Sean Juengst took seventh in the heptathlon with 4,479 points, recording marks of 9.49 in the 60m hurdles, 4.09m in the pole vault, and 2:53.47 in the 1000m on day two
- Jayden Munroe scored team points taking fourth in the triple jump with a 14.84m provisional mark
- Nathan Alto tallied an all-conference performance in the 3000m, taking third with a time of 8:38.04
- The 4x400m relay team of Salfrank, Dingman, Julian Scott, and Martens ran to a third place finish with a time of 3:18.86
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN
- Renea Taylor tallied a sixth place finish in the 60m with a season best time of 7.60
- Anna Skachenko secured the first women’s conference championship of the meet in the 600m with a personal best time of 1:35.86
- Alli Jackson also recorded all-conference accolades in the 600m, finishing as the runner-up with a time of 1:36.12
- Summer Carlson notched a second place finish in the 1000m, breaking the school record with a time of 2:55.87, earning her first all-conference honor of the season
- Morgan Sheldon brought home a fourth place finish in the pentathlon with 3,434 points, notching marks of 9.04 in the 60m hurdles, 1.56m in the high jump, 12.36m in the shot put, 4.96m in the long jump, and 2:36.80 in the 800m
- The 4x400m relay team of Taylor, Jackson, Elisabet Osk Jonsdottir, and Skachenko took fourth in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:55.05

Northern will await the NCAA to release the 2024-25 indoor qualifying lists. The NCAA Indoor Championships are set for March 12-15 in Indianapolis.
