South Dakota Senate passes HB1026(Richmond Lake Dam Project)

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The South Dakota Senate heard HB1026 on the floor Thursday.  the bill make an appropriation for the replacement of the Richmond Lake dam and spillway, for the general maintenance and repair of other state-owned dams, and to declare an emergency.

All three senators representing Brown County spoke in favor of the bill.

The South Dakota Senate passed it on a 32-2 vote.  Two senators opposing the bill were Senators Randy Deibert of Spearfish & Helene Duhamel of Rapid City.  The bill now heads to the Governor’s desk.
