Aberdeen, SD (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University head football coach Mike Schmidt announced the addition of Kiefer Price to the Wolves coaching staff, leading the offensive line. Price joins NSU after spending the 2024 season as an offensive analyst and assistant offensive line coach at McNeese State University.
“Throughout our extensive search, we connected with a number of exceptional offensive line coaches from across the country,” noted Schmidt. “Coach Price stood out as the ideal candidate, embodying the necessary blend of skill, character, and passion for the success of the team and his players. His expertise, engaging personality, and dedication to building strong relationships make him a great fit for NSU football and the city of Aberdeen.”
“I am so thankful to Coach Schmidt for the opportunity to join such a great program,” explained Price. “Northern State football is heading in a great direction, and I am excited to contribute to the success of the program moving forward. Top notch facilities, an elite coaching staff, and all the support from the administration and the community you could ask for. My family and I are fired up to be able to call Aberdeen home, and I can’t wait to get to work with the offensive line.”
With the MSU Cowboys, Price assisted in the development of the offense that led the Southland Conference in rushing yards, yards per carry, and rushing touchdowns. In addition, McNeese went from a 0-12 season in 2023 to a 6-6 record with Price as a member of the staff.
From 2022-24, he served as the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach for Misericordia University. The MU offense saw improvements in rushing yards per game, rushing yards per carry, points per game, and sack rate in his two seasons.
Price served as the offensive coordinator, assistant head coach, and quarterbacks coach for Iowa Wesleyan University from 2020-21. In the fall of 2020, he was named the Iowa Wesleyan Recruiter of the Year. In addition, the offense saw large increases in production in yards per game, passing yards per game, and points per game during his tenure.
He opened his coaching career as an assistant offensive line coach at his alma mater McMurray University in 2013. Price also served as a graduate assistant at Jackson State in 2018, working with the offensive line, tight ends, and fullbacks, and was the offensive line coach at Oklahoma Panhandle State in 2019.
Price played four seasons at McMurray University as a member of the offensive line from 2009-2012. He recorded 32 career starts, was a team captain his senior year, and earned ASC All-Conference second team honors in 2011, as well as All-American accolades in 2012.
Price will reside in Aberdeen with his wife, Madison, and their daughter.
