Recap of Aberdeen City Council meeting held Tuesday

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen City Council held their meeting on Tuesday.  Reminder, no meeting took place Monday because of the Presidents Day holiday.

During the open forum, a citizen addressed concerns about the railroad crossing near North Roosevelt Street and 8th Avenue that’s been an issue over the last few years.  City Manager Robin Bobzien talked about what the city did in that area about two years ago.

Bobzien acknowledged that the situation is much worse now because of the weather.

The city will take a closer look into that situation.

Later in the meeting, the city addressed a lot of city business addressing the Aberdeen Regional Airport.  One of the topic discussed is closure to the COVID grant program.  City Manager Robin Bobzien:

Aberdeen Public Works Director Stu Nelson next talked about a bridge inspection resolution the city had on the agenda.

The City Council approved the resolution.

Finally, during the City Manager Report, Bobzien provide an update on the Moccasin Creek cleanup

A number of members in the council plan on being in Pierre for Aberdeen Day coming up on Thursday.
