Brookings, SD (NSUWolves.com) [FRI] – The Northern State University track and field teams opened the first day of the SDSU Classic with 17 top-10 finishes, including one event victory. In addition, two indoor school records fell in the men’s 300m and women’s 800m.
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN
- Seth Martens took home an event win and new school record in the 300m with a time of 34.50, followed by Drew Salfrank and Carter Dingman in second and third with times of 34.93 and 35.39 respectively
- The 300m field saw seven Wolves place in the top-10 including Peyton Mausbach in seventh (36.02), Geoffrey Mannino in eighth (36.14), Drew Henriksen in ninth (36.27), and Damon Roggenbuck in tenth (36.53)
- Sam Tremelling added a second place finish in the pole vault, clearing 4.70m, while Eli Radtke took sixth with a 4.55m vault
- The 4x800m relay team of Lincoln Woodring, Dylan Schimke, Jessup Pederson, and Jonathan Burkhalter placed third with a time of 8:01.12
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN
- Renea Taylor opened her weekend with a second place finish in the 200m, crossing the finish line in 25.13
- Anna Skachenko and Kyanna Collymore took third and fourth in the 300m with times of 41.21 and 42.39, followed by Emma Hunt in seventh with a time of 44.10
- Summer Carlson broke her own school record in the 800m with a time of 2:16.28, finishing in 12th
- Gitte Bellemans placed third in the pole vault with a 3.60m mark and Romane Maugest and Bekah Walz tied for eighth with vaults of 3.45m

SDSU Classic w/ NSU Day 2
BROOKINGS, SD (NSUWolves.com) [Day 2] – Northern closed out their weekend in Brookings on Saturday with 30 top-15 placings. The Wolves recorded 37 top-10 finishes, including four event victory, and three indoor school records over the two days of competition from the SDSU Classic.
- Chris Weber won the 60m with a time of 6.78; the senior improved on his prelims time of 6.82 to take the top spot
- Julian Scott took home the event victory in the 200m with a time of 21.97, while Peyton Mausbach placed tenth with a time of 22.43
- Drew Salfrank rounded out the top-10 of the 400m, crossing the finish line in 49.16
- Northern tallied two top-15 finishes in the 600m including a ninth place finish by Dylan Schimke in 1:22.73 and 14th place finish by Carter Dingman in 1:23.54
- Jeffrey Boschee jumped to a sixth place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.95m, and eighth place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 12.16m
- The long jump saw Eli Radtke and Treyson Schulz take eighth and ninth with jumps of 6.45m and 6.42m respectively
- Ethan Barnett landed in the top-10 of the shot put, tossing 15.04m in eighth overall
- Justin Jacobson added a seventh place finish in the weight throw with a 16.60m heave
- The distance medley relay team of David VanVeen, Seth Martens, Lincoln Woodring, and Jonathan Burkhalter took third with a time of 10:16.69
- Renea Taylor just missed finals in both the 60m and 60m hurdles with times of 7.74 and 8.97
- Alli Jackson crushed her own school record in the 600m with a time of 1:35.09, winning the race, followed by Anna Skachenko in seventh with a time of 1:37.99
- Four Wolves landed in the top-10 of the 1000m led by race winner Summer Carlson finishing in 2:59.13
- The 1000m finishers included Emaleigh Olesiak in fourth (3:09.57), Payton Kemnitz in fifth (3:11.37), and Jolie Dugan in ninth (3:19.92)
- Morgan Sheldon notched a tenth place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.58m
- Grace Kuch rounded out the top-15 of the shot put with an 11.48m toss
- Elisabet Osk Jonsdottir added a top-15 finish of her own in the triple jump, taking 14th with a 10.56m mark
- Three Wolves tallied top-15 finishes in the weight throw including Brooke Mushatt in eighth (14.18m), Paige Bishop in 13th (13.12m), and Olivia Ashley in 15th (12.90m)
