PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- A public inauguration for South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden took place Saturday at the State Capitol Rotunda. Rhoden’s twin sister Lorie Hausman placed a Black Walnut cross her brother crafted in front of the podium.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were Congressman Dusty Johnson, former Governor Dennis Daugaard and former first spouse Bryon Noem.  He carried a special message from former Governor Kristi Noem before speaking for himself.

After being sworn-in for a second time by Supreme Court Chief Justice Steven Jensen, Rhoden says he sees opportunity ahead for all South Dakotans.

A number of current and former legislators were in attendance.  A public ball and grand march took place Saturday night at the Capitol.
