PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The South Dakota House State Affairs Committee heard testimony Wednesday on SB17.  The bill limit the amount of money that a political committee may accept from an inactive candidate campaign committee.

Prime sponsor of the bill was Senator Michael Rohl of Aberdeen. Rohl told the committee how to define an inactive campaign committee.

Rohl push for these committees to be done the same way as those not seeking offices.

Rohl explains what a candidate that may lose the election can do with money coming from the committee.

In opposition was Aberdeen resident Heidi Englehart who has an issue with the wording of the bill.

The House State Affairs Committee voted 9-3 to defer it to the 41st day effectively killing the bill.
