ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Last Friday former Aberdeen businessman Marvin Hofer was ordered to pay out over 2.4 million dollars in damages stemming from his involvement in finances for Marilyn Lehr who passed away back in 2023.
Hofer is ordered to pay out over $900,000 in actually damages and over 1.5 million dollars in punitive damages to Hugh Dahme and to the Lehr estate. Lehr’s husband Eugene passed away back in 2016.
Jury ruled that Hofer used undue influence back in 2016 to place his name as part of her will.
Hofer has a criminal pass. In 2017 he pled guilty to 18 felony counts of federal wire fraud and was ordered to serve two years in prison and fined $30,000.
Hofer now resides in Sioux Falls.
