Harold Glenn Miller was born October 23, 1947, in Aberdeen, SD, to Gustav and Helen (Goldade) Miller. He attended Sacred Heart schools until high school, where he attended and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School. In June of 1965 he enlisted in the Navy where he served in Vietnam as Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class.

In July of 1970 he went home after a blind date and told his mother he met the woman he was going to marry. On June 26, 1971, he was united in marriage to Marlene Lardy, and they were together for 53 wonderful years. This union brought them two children, Mike and Kristi.

Harold loved hunting and fishing, but the 4th of July and Christmas made him like a kid again. He loved to buy all kinds of fireworks and light them off with his brother Edward and other family members. At Christmas he wanted all the lights and loved to buy gifts for his family. Harold loved attending all his grandkid’s activities.

Harold worked for Hub City Iron until 1971. He then went to work for Avera St. Luke’s for the next 42 years.

Grateful for having shared Harold’s life are his wife, Marlene Miller; children: Kristi (Bill) Hall and Mike (Stacy) Miller; grandchildren: Stephanie (Sam) Germolus, Dylan Hall, Madison Miller, and Alivia Miller.

Preceding Harold in death are his parents, parents-in-law, and brother Allen.

In lieu of flowers; the family would like memorials donated to the MidWest Honor Flight PO Box 22 Sioux Center, IA 51250.
