Daniel “Dan” Patrick Sattler, 40, of Moorpark, CA, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, CA.
A celebration of life will take place from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, at PJ’s Sports Pub in Thousand Oaks, CA.
His memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Redfield, SD. Reverend Lorah Houser Jankord will officiate. Lunch and fellowship in the church hall will follow the service. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Rockham Grace Cemetery in Rockham, SD.

Daniel Patrick Sattler was born December 11, 1984, in Redfield, SD to Lonnie and Lori Sattler. He attended RHS and graduated in 2003 and went on to Mitchell VoTech where he completed his degree in Electrical Construction & Maintenance. In June 2006, Dan moved to Bakersfield, CA after taking a job with Braun Electric. Shortly following his move, Dan met Melissa in November of the same year and pursued a nearly 5 year relationship. After, Dan & Kelly met and married in 2012 and had two amazing children, Danika & Kelten. Following their split, Dan & Melissa reunited, rekindled their relationship and built a beautiful blended family. In Nov. 2022, Dan & Melissa were legally married in a private ceremony at the Ventura Courthouse, then shared their celebration with family and friends in a formal ceremony on April 15, 2023. A couple of months following, Dan adopted Chase & Kaia, completing their family unit. The following months and years have been filled with much love, happiness, and laughter.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Melissa, and children, Chase, Kaia (Matthew) Clays (Miles & Dean), Danika & Kelten.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers and brother, Nathan. Additional survivors include his parents, Lonnie & Lori, siblings, Casi (David) O’Daniel (Kiara & Tristen), Ryan (Kellie) and children Dalton, Emersen, Ainslee & Kaidence, Matthew (Kasandra) and children Mason, Kamden, Penelope & Natalee, Seth and Sara along with grandmothers, other family, and close friends.
