MADISON, S.D.(KELO)- South Dakota is well-positioned to make big gains in the cyber security world.

The expected confirmation of Governor Kristi Noem as Homeland Security Secretary is one of the driving factors.

The state’s Washington congressional delegation only has three members…but all three are in leadership positions.

Dakota State University President Jose-Marie Griffiths says that paints a positive picture for DSU’s cyber program and graduates.

Dakota State’s Applied Research Lab under construction on the western edge of Sioux Falls is expected to come online in 2026.

Griffiths says that facility will also add visibility to the state’s cybersecurity work.
