South Dakota leaders comment on the passing of former President Jimmy Carter

SOUTH DAKOTA(HubCityRadio)— On Sunday, former President Jimmy Carter passed away at the age of 100.  South Dakota leaders reacted to the passing of the former president.

Senator John Thune:

“Today we mourn the passing of a dedicated public servant and man of faith, former President Jimmy Carter,” said Thune.“President Carter dedicated his life to serving the people of Georgia and our great country – as a naval officer, a governor, and asthe 39th President of the United States. From peanut farming to the presidency and every step in between, his wife Rosalynn was by his side. Kimberley and Iare praying for the Carter family, and we are comforted by the fact that Jimmy and Rosalynn are together again.”

Senator Mike Rounds:

“President Carter lived a remarkable life and faithfully served our country. His humanitarian work was a testament to his character and was recognized with a Nobel Peace Prize. Praying for his family and all who loved him as they remember his life and mourn his loss.”

Congressman Dusty Johnson:

“President Jimmy Carter was a man of service whose impact will be felt for generations. May he rest in peace. My prayers are with the Carter family in this time.”

Governor Kristi Noem:

“President Carter’s life was one of steadfast service, marked by humility and grace. In this moment, may his family find peace and comfort.”
