WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- The NAWIC Dakota Prairies Chapter #394 recently hosted a Turkey Bingo Fundraiser at Miss Kitty’s in Henry, SD, raising over $6,000 for the Beacon Center. The event featured $1 Bingo games, turkey bowling, a turkey raffle, a live auction, a bake sale, and a 50/50 raffle. Attendees also participated in a toy drive, earning free Bingo cards for their contributions.
Rebecca Huestess from NAWIC Dakota Prairies expressed gratitude: “To say we are humbled is an understatement! We shopped for three families, fulfilling their wish lists and then some! It filled our hearts with joy to donate an additional $3,071.50 to Beacon Center to support their mission.”
The fundraiser’s success allowed NAWIC to provide gifts, including a $100 movie pass and a family zoo pass, to three families in need. Huestess added, “The ladies were shocked when we brought in 134 gifts!”
Looking ahead, NAWIC aims to support five families and raise $4,000 next year. They are committed to going “bigger and better” to help more families in the community.
