Fire reported at Aberdeen hotel Friday

ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release)- On Friday, November 29th, at 5:52am, there was a report of a fire in a hotel room on the second floor at the Hamption Inn.  Aberdeen Fire Rescue units were dispatched and found several people evacuating hotel.

Aberdeen Police assisted with the evacuation and notification of the fire.  Evacuated guests reported smoke at the second floor hallway.

Guest were allowed at the Holiday Inn Express due to the cold weather until the all clear was given.

Fire crew discovered smoke leaking from Room 227 of the second floor.  The fire was in a room that was unoccupied and was entinguished by the fire sprinkler system in the room.  The room suffered fire and smoke damage.

No occupants suffered any injuries during this time.

Fire crews were on the scene for about 1 1/2 hours.
