Senator Thune react to being elected Senate Majority Leader

WASHINGTON, D.C.(HubCityRadio)- On Wednesday morning, the Republican Caucus behind a closed door vote elected Senator John Thune to succeed Senator Mitch McConnell as Senator Majority Leader starting in 2025.

Senator Thune talks about the agenda going forward beginning in 2025.


Thune compares how he will lead to his predecessor Senator McConnell.

Thune discuss his relation now with President-elect Donald Trump who has been critical of him in the past.

Thune talks about one of the first thing he has to do is confirm Trump’s choices for various cabinet posts.

Thune reflect back twenty years ago when he defeated then Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle back in 2004 to today.

Senator Thune defeated Senator John Cornyn of Texas 29-24 to win the leadership in the second round of voting.  Senator Rick Scott was eliminated after the first round of voting earlier.
