Clinton Nilson, 96

Clinton Nilson, 96, of Roslyn and formerly of Webster, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Strand-Kjorsvig Living Center in Roslyn.

Memorial services will be 1 pm Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the funeral home and will be livestreamed via Fiksdal Funeral Service Facebook page. Military honors will immediately follow the service. Private inurnment will be at the Tabor Lutheran Cemetery.

Clinton Arden Nilson was born March 3, 1928, the youngest of eight children, to Jens and Trina (Rikmo) Nilson at Webster, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at Tabor Lutheran Church of rural Webster. Clinton attended country school through the eighth grade and then stayed home to help on the family farm. Clinton was a member of the United States Airforce from 1952-1954, working as a mechanical engineer. Clinton married MaryAnn Miotke, and two children were born to this union, Craig and Cathy. As a dairy farmer, Clinton continued milking cows until he was 80 years old. Fishing and hunting were two of his favorite pastimes, as well as visiting over a cup of coffee and a glazed donut.

Preceding Clinton in death are his parents, wife, Mary Ann, and seven siblings, Mabel, Nora, Orville, Harold, Helen, Reynold, and Justin. He is survived by his children, Craig (Muriel) Nilson of Webster, SD, and Cathy (Rod) Christmann of North Platte, NE, four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
