Christopher Hinkelman, 48

Christopher Hinkelman, 48, of Summit, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, while working in Winner, South Dakota. Memorial Services will be held at 11 am Saturday, October 19 2024, at Ortley Free Lutheran Church, Reverend Ken Flatten will be officiating. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 9 am and continuing until the service and will be live streamed on Fiksdal Funeral Service Facebook page.

Christopher Lee Hinkelman was born on June 16, 1976 to Alfred and Carol (Klein) Hinkelman in Watertown, SD. Chris was baptized and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Church in Waubay, SD. Chris attended Waubay Elementary School and graduated from Waubay High School in 1994. Chris and his brother, Cody both graduated from Auctioneer school in 2005. Chris married Rebecca Pies in September of 2007 and to this union came children Madelyn Hinkelman and Brett Hinkelman.

Chris had many various jobs throughout his life, but his true passion was Agriculture. You could always find him at various sale barns… He loved attending auctions and would always brag about the good deals he would get. Chris loved all things family, whether it be attending family gatherings or learning more about the family history. Chris could tell you just about anything about a family member’s history. Chris enjoyed attending his children’s activities and could give full detail as to what happened at them. Another hobby of Chris’s was cooking. He loved to do it and was quite good at it. He often joked that’s where his brother-in-law Mike learned his own cooking skills.

Chris passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 48 years, 3 months and 29 days.

Chris is survived by his two Sons Kyle (Kaitlin) Kleinschmit, Brett Hinkelman, and Daughter Madelyn Hinkelman, Former Spouse Rebecca Hinkelman, Sister Kristi (Mike)Jordan, Brother Cody (Dani) Hinkelman and nieces and nephews, Dustin (Becky) Jordan, Travis (Courtney) Jordan, Makayla, Jackson and Noah Pies, Evie and Theo Eck, Baylie, Frankie and Joey Pies and Great Nephews Leo, Max, Jude and Noah, Special friend and cousin Delbert (Anje) Hinkelman and Preston, along with many other Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Alfred and Carol Hinkelman, Grandparents, Martin and Louise Hinkelman, Marcella and Frank Klein along with other Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
