Merlyn D. Melcher, 88, Java, SD, died Monday, October 7, 2024 at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND.
Merlyn is survived by Lucille, his wife of 65 years; one son, Mark (Cindy) Melcher of Pollock SD; two daughters—Lore Ann (Pat) Wolff of Rapid City, SD and Susan Marie (Dean) Dills of Andover, MN; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Merlyn’s funeral will be livestreamed at the Lien Family Funeral Care Facebook page.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 AM, Monday, October 14, 2024 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Selby, SD, with Father Michael Griffin and Lucille’s brother, Monsignor Eugene Lozinski, Concelebrants. Interment follows at Selby Memorial Gardens.
A Wake service is scheduled for 5:00 PM, Sunday at the Church with visitation commencing 4:00 PM.
Services are in care of Lien Funeral Home, Bowdle.
