James Nolan, 55

The funeral service for James L. Nolan, 55, of Aberdeen, SD, will be 3:00pm, Saturday, October 5. 2024, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, with Pastor George Shaver officiating. James died Friday, September 27, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 South Main Street.

James L. Nolan was born on August 2, 1969 to Luverne and Rita (Thiele) Nolan in Aberdeen, SD. He grew up and attended school in Aberdeen; graduating from Aberdeen Central High School in 1988.

Later in life, James furthered his education by attending Northern State University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. James worked various jobs throughout his life including: at Twin City, construction, Maintenance, Wal-Mart, and most recently worked at Super Stop.

James was an avid Washington Redskins fan and enjoyed watching Dale Earnhardt, Jr. race NASCAR. He also like to watch college football and Aberdeen Wings hockey. In his younger years he enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. His nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart and could often be found roughhousing with them when they would visit. Later on, he enjoyed smoking meat, singing karaoke, firepits, and 4th of July at Wylie Park.

Grateful for having shared Jame’s life are his children Ariel Wente-Nolan and Chloe (Dylan) Rush; grandchildren: Quinn Rush and Odinn Rush; brothers, Jeff Nolan and Chad (Dora) Nolan; and nieces and nephews.

Preceding James in death are his parents, Luverne and Rita Nolan; and sister, Janice Campana.
