Jody D. Hoffman, born on February 14, 1962, in Leola, South Dakota, to Deuwayne and Louise Hoffman, passed away surrounded by his loving family. Jody was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
A Celebration of Life Visitation with family present will be 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Schriver’s Memorial Fellowship Center.
He is survived by his older sister Dawn Jenner, niece Amy Fishbach, and nephew Bobby Jenner, younger brother Jon Hoffman, nephew Tyler Hoffman and Aidan Hoffman, all of whom shared a special bond with him. Jody’s love and kindness extended to many, including his devoted spouse of 38 years, Shirley Callahan. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories.
Jody was a loving stepfather to Stephenie D. Sheppard, Christina J. Hensley, and Buster Old Jr.(Amy), all of whom held a deep affection for him. Though Jody and Shirley did not have children of their own, Jody embraced fatherhood through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a heart full of joy and pride.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his eight grandchildren: Starr Leann Sturch (Brandon), Dalton Ray Noble (Mikayla), Christopher Shelby Old (Abby), Shelby Lynn Hoel (Aldin), Lindsey Nichole Burgess, Tiffany Guenther (Josh), Thomas Xaziver Old, and Olivia Alexa Old (Morgan). Jody also rejoiced in the presence of his ten great-grandchildren: Blakely Sturch, Bentley Sturch, Zaidyn Sturch, Ava Old, Westin Hoel, Maven Hoel, Lindsey Old, Avery Noble, Clara Guenther, and Wyatt Guenther.
Jody’s warmth and generosity touched the lives of many family members and friends, who will remember him fondly. He was known for his unwavering support and deep affection for those he loved.
Jody will be dearly missed but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness and love.
