The funeral service for Carson C. Nelson, 20, of Aberdeen, SD, will be 11:00am, Saturday, August 3, 2024, at First Baptist Church, with Pastor Gary Compton officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Carson died Monday, July 29, 2024, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Visitation will be 3:00-7:00pm, Friday, with family present from 5:00-7:00pm, followed by a prayer service at 7:00pm at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 South Main Street.
Carson C. Nelson was born on February 22, 2004, to Chad and Jill (Jensen) Nelson at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen, SD. He grew up in Aberdeen where he attended Aberdeen Christian School and graduated in 2022.
In the past Carson worked for Dakotascape Outdoor Design and most recently worked for Rivett Group. On April 1, 2024, he enlisted in the South Dakota Army National Guard with the A Battery 1/147th Field Artillery as a Fire Control Specialist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hanging out with friends. He loved farming, working cattle and could often be found building creations in the shop. He enjoyed going on adventures, having Nerf gun wars, and being outdoors. He had a strong love for history and loved his dog, Dutch, very much.
Carson was so full of life and was often smiling and playing jokes. He loved his family and friends tremendously.
Grateful for having shared Carson’s life are his parents Chad and Jill Nelson; brother, Austin Nelson; grandparents, Ron and Deb Nelson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding Carson in death are his grandparents, Bill and Joyce Jensen; and cousin CJ Dow.
