Matthew G. Seliski was born on July 14, 1982, to Gerald and Debbie (Knudson) Seliski in St. Paul, MN. He grew up in Eden Prairie, MN where he attended school and graduated in 2001. As a child Matt loved Whinnie the Pooh and Simpsons. He also played hockey.

On May 27, 2023, Matt married Nicole Storm in Lead, SD after ten years of dating; and together, they made their home in Westport, SD with their two children Ely and Kiefer. Matt worked as a welder and shared this craft with his son, Kiefer. He shared his love of sports with his son Ely and routinely played catch. One of his most loved projects was restoring old tractors. This turned into a family project and often included the help of his father-in-law and children. Matt, Nicole, and the family loved to travel and visited many exciting places including Florida, where they played with gators and Chicago, where Matt proposed to Nicole at Willis Tower.

Matt was an exceptional cook. He could often be found grilling or making up some kind of recipe. He made a particularly good spaghetti sauce and named it “Ugly Ely’s Spaghetti Sauce.” Matt had a special love for animals and nature. He likes hunting, fishing with Aunt Louise in Minnesota, and camping. There was also a special place in his heart for his own pets, Mr. Kitty and Libby. Matt had a wonderful sense of humor and there was never a dull moment when he was around.

Grateful for having shared Matt’s life are his wife Nicole (Storm) Seliski; sons, Ely Jahnig and Kiefer Jahnig; mother, Debbie Seliski, brother, Adam Seliski (Byron); sister, Jessica Hentges, Aunt Louise Seliski (Julie) parents-in-law, Herman and Ann Storm; sister-in-law, Kassie Strom; and Aunts, Uncles, and many friends.

Preceding Matt in death are his father, Gerald Seliski; Grandparents and Uncle; beloved dog, Libby; and friend Jim.

Matt will be greatly missed by many family and friends.
