PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Monday at the House Commerce & Energy Committee, Representative Brandei Schaefbauer of Aberdeen introduced HB1258 that states “provide that a company transporting hydrogen, by pipeline, is not a common carrier.”
Schaefbauer discuss concerns about the risks of hydrogen pipelines.
Schaefbauer requested the committee to table the bill.
The committee approved it on a 13-0 vote. Schaefbauer explains that new information came about and if elected, she will try to work on this bill next year.
One other pipeline bill, HB1246 establishing a pre-condemnation process and to require reclamation and restoration of property damaged by condemnation was also tabled by the committee on Monday
