OMAHA, N.E.(WNAX)- Climate watchers say we should start to feel more of the impacts of a growing La Nina in the next few months.

A La Nina occurs when southern Pacific Ocean surface temperatures cool and that has an impact on North American weather.

Nebraska State Climatologist Martha Shulski moderated this month’s North Central Region Climate update and says a La Nina advisory has been issued.

Shulski says it looks like December temperatures will range from normal to above normal.

Shulski says precipitation chances are mixed.

Shulski says some signals show cold and more snow late in the winter.
