WATERTOWN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen Smittys defeated Watertown Post 17 1-0 in Game 2 of their best of three series to advance to the State Legion Tournament.
Aberdeen Smittys would get terrific pitching from starter Philip Zens who would throw a complete game 5-hitter. Zens would get Watertown’s Carson Mutschler with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh to get the win.(Audio courtesy of Brent Nathaniel of KWAT)
Zens struck out 6 Watertown batters while walking 3 & drove in the only run of the game with an RBI groundout in the 4th inning.
Smittys now move on to the the Legion State “A” Tournament that will begins on Tuesday, July 25th in Yankton.
